Curriculum - Religious Education
As a Church of England school part of our Christian distinctiveness is that we prioritise the teaching of religious education through our curriculum.
Monday mornings are dedicated to Religious Education using 'Understanding Christianity' and 'Discovery RE'. We focus on the 6 major world religions: Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism and Sikhism.
This curriculum works alongside the Oxfordshire agreed syllabus for Religious Education 2023-2028. Click here for the Doicese of Oxford's agreed syllabus.
We ensure that our Christian Values underpin all of our lessons. Children are given time to reflect their views and opinions in a safe and supportive environment whilst being given the time to see the world from a different viewpoint.

Understanding Christianity provides children with the 'Big Frieze' artwork to deepen their understanding of the 8 core concepts:
Throughout the year, the children across the school have been reflecting on the core concepts and creating artwork to demonstrate their understanding
